The Prodigal Son, Rodrigo de la Vega, Manuel Rodríguez de Losada, 19th century Sevillian school
Canvas measures 123 x 125 cm. Framed measurements: 145 x 135 cm. (Seville, 1826-Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, 1896). Spanish painter. He cultivated the theme of history, customs, religious, literary and portraiture. He was a knight of the Order of Santiago and corresponding academic of the Real de San Fernando in Madrid. He was trained in his hometown. He participated in numerous samples and exhibitions, obtaining an honorable mention in the National Fine Arts of 1858 and 1867, respectively. He was awarded the silver medal of Carlos III in Seville in 1843 and with the highest award in the exhibitions of the Academy of Fine Arts of Santa Isabel de Hungría in Seville in 1854 and 1856, as well as in the one organized by the Society of Friends of the Country in 1858.
