Gramophone Universal Exhibition, Sevillian goldsmith, circa 1920
A very unique and rare gramophone made by a Sevillian jeweler for the 1925 Seville Gramophone Exhibition that was awarded a silver medal, was bought by General Norrio, who kept it hidden during the Spanish Civil War and reappeared in 1963. The gramophone is shaped Like a Spanish-Moorish temple with twelve faces in silver-plated brass, the hinged dome opens to form a resonator with an arm that can be converted by lateral or vertical discs. The silver-plated brass is generally decorated with Moorish motifs and calligraphy. The silver plate is original like the other parts of this gramophone, it measures approximately 63 cm high. Weighing 40 kg, it is a totally original and working museum piece.
