Yarnall Abbott Impressionist Village Scene
Item/Description: Original, colorful village scene features impressionistic view of figures walking near adobe house, leafless trees in the foreground. No visible signature. Artist name label on frame back. An additional piece of art is adhered to backing.
Charles Yarnall Abbott (American, 1870 - 1938) photographer and painter who studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and at the Academie Colarossi in Paris, France. He was a lawyer for ten years before becoming an artist.

Material: Pastel on paper

Dimensions: Image size: Height: 8 1/2"; Width: 10". Framed: Height: 13 1/2"; Width: 14 1/2"

Condition: Very Good. Colors vivid and crisp. Surface use and age wear includes scuffs, scratches, and paint loss to frame, Hanging hardware in working condition. Additional work adhered to backing (see below).

Age: Late 19th - Early 20th Century

Adhered to back: Portrait Drawing on Paper Signed Imsky
Item/Description: Signed surrealist portrait drawing sketch of a bearded man. Marker or pen on rice paper. Ink blots on paper. Abstract. Image of another face with a mustache under nose. Artist signed lower right: Imsky. Glued to cardboard. Pencil drawn "frame" with white paint.

Dimensions: Image size: Height: 10"; Width: 71/2".

Condition: Glued to back of frame
