אלסוורת הנטינגטון (באנגלית: Ellsworth Huntington; 16 בספטמבר 1876 - 17 באוקטובר 1947) היה פרופסור לגאוגרפיה באוניברסיטת ייל בתחילת המאה ה-20. הוא ידוע במחקריו על האקלים, צמיחה כלכלית וגאוגרפיה כלכלית. הוא כיהן כנשיא האגודה האקולוגית של אמריקה בשנת 1917,
בשנת 1909 יצא הנטינגטון בראש משלחת ייל לארץ-ישראל.
משימתו הייתה לקבוע את התהליך שבו המבנה הגאולוגי, הצורה הטופוגרפית וטבע האקלים בהווה ובעבר, עיצבו את התקדמות האדם, עיצבו את ההיסטוריה שלו, ובכך מילאו חלק בלתי נפרד בפיתוח מערכת של מחשבה אשר לא יכולה להיווצר בנסיבות פיזיות אחרות.
