אברהם גוֹלדפַאדְן היה מחזאי, משורר, מלחין, במאי תיאטרון ושחקן תיאטרון יידישאי ועברי, אבי התיאטרון היהודי המודרני. ב-1876 ייסד גולדפאדן ברומניה להקת תיאטרון שנחשבה ללהקת התיאטרון המקצועית הראשונה בעולם שהציגה את מופעיה ביידיש. כמו כן, כתב את המחזה העברי הראשון שהוצג בארצות הברית ב-1906
