Italian school of the seventeenth century. Follower of Bernardo Bitti. Virgin. Oil on canvas. 63 x 48 cm. A work of art very close to Bitti's models, among its main characteristics we can highlight the predominant use of the line, the mere hint of the volumes, the elongated figure in the mannerist style, the sophistication in the posture of its characters, who are worked based on a serpentine line. In Bitti's figures, naturalism is not appreciated, but on the contrary, the weightlessness of his fabrics, their fanciful colors and the absence of different textures of his cloths, influenced by El Greco and Rafael, respond to a desire to idealize his figures. as can be seen in its Virgins and Saints who are clothed in pastel colored fabrics.
