"Agnus Dei". Gilded and silver-gilded relief. 17th century.
This could be the lamb which, as a symbol, accompanies a large sculptural group with the figure of Saint John the Baptist, as we see for example in the magnificent image by the sculptor Juan de Ávila in the Church of Santiago in Valladolid, in which the lamb can be found on its own individual base, freestanding from the sculpture of Saint John and his feet.
