Aubusson Verdure tapestry attributed to François Grellet
France, third quarter of the 18th century
Size 260 x 460 cm
Woven in wool and silk, it represents a crane and another bird in a wooded landscape with a river , a bridge and a mill in the foreground and houses in the background in a wooded environment. Framed by a floral and foliate trellis wrapped in ribbons, column border with acanthus brooches at the corners. This is a distinctive frame pattern border by François Grellet
