Jiang Tingxi (1669-1732) and Liang Shizheng (1697-1763) "Poem and Landscape", Qing dynasty.
Pigments on paper with canvas frame. The painting shows a poem and a landscape scene surrounded by a frame of red bats and clouds.
In the lower half is the landscape. It depicts a cherry blossom tree in a rocky environment. On the right side is a signature "蒋廷锡" (Jiang Tingxi) and a seal identifying the author of the painting.
On the upper half is a poem about nature that relates to the landscape: "叢蘭擢幽谷綠葉 / 而紫莖娟娟, 秋露中素 / 蕊含香清作花何必 多芳澤 逾湘蘅涼風 / 一披拂 淡與人相迎品 / 高凡卉讓質秀非春 榮抽琴理雅操遠 / 契宣尼情". Plus a signature "梁诗正" (Liang Shizheng) and a stamp identifying the author of the poem.
