Bronze ”Weituo” figure, Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644) - Made of bronze with page. The page shows traces of polychrome and gold. It represents a guardian Budda, ”Weituo” (Skanda in Sanskrit language), of Buddhist temples and monasteries. They wear traditional Chinese full armor typical of Chinese warrior heroes and a celestial scarf. They are often placed in the corners of the altars in the respective cardinal points.
