People's Artist of Russia, Professor of the Department of Painting and Composition of the St. Petersburg State Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin, head of a personal workshop at the painting faculty of the Institute of Civil Aviation named after. I.E. Repin of the Russian Academy of Arts, was chairman of the Leningrad branch of the Union of Artists of Russia. Laureate of the State Prize in the field of fine arts. Participant of many international, regional and city exhibitions in Moscow and St. Petersburg, in foreign countries: China, France, USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain and others. Picturesque paintings by Sokolov V.V. acquired and are: in the Kremlin, the Ministry of Culture, the State Russian Museum, the Art Fund of Russia, museums in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries of near and far abroad.
