Bogdanov-Belskiy Nikolay Petrovich (1868, Shopotovo village, Smolensk Region – 1945, Latvia).

Studied at Radchinskiy School and icon workshop underHoly Trinity-St.Sergius Laura, since 1884 studied at Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under V.E. Makovskiy, V.D. Polenov, I.M. Pryanishnickov. In 1889 was awarded the big silver medal and the title of the class artist for the picture “Future Enoch”. After 1895 studied under I.E. Repin at Academy of Arts, as well as under F. Kormon and F. Kolarossi in Paris. Since 1890 participated in exhibitions initiated by the Union of Itinerant Art Exhibitions, and since 1895 was the member of the Union. Worked in Petersburg. Mostly painted genre pictures on the rural life subjects. His works are exhibited in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, regional museums, as well as in many private collections.
