Torah homilies by Rabbi Avraham, son of the Maggid of Mezherich, known as ‘Ha’malach (the angel)’ due to his exceptional saintliness. This work was published on the instructions of his grandson Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, as stated on the title page. Chassidic teachings of Rabbi Avraham of Kalisk, Rabbi Baruch of Mezhibozh, Rabbi Pinchas of Koritz and Rabbi Shalom Shachna of Prohobich (a son of Rabbi Avraham Ha’malach) are included.

Rabbi Avraham Ha’malach (1741-1777), son of the Maggid of Mezherich, and son-in-law of Rabbi Meshulam Feivish Horowitz of Kremenitz – author of Mishnas Chachamim. Known for his exceptional saintliness and his Divine worship in seclusion. Lived in Pastov, near Kiev.
