Hellenistic marble architrave slab, 2nd century BC-1st century AD; length cm 21 (each side), wide cm 4; The architrave slab is characterized by the typical oval and astragal decoration arranged alternately on two parallel lines; originally a decorative element of a building, probably a temple, it was already used as a tile in ancient times, as can be seen from the opposite polished surface. Provenance: English private collection, bought before 2000s.
