A GILT WOOD SEATED BUDDHA
Laos, 19th century
Supported by a two registers high base, the Buddha seated with his legs crossed in a dyanasana position, both hands facing palms downward in the bhumisparsamudra, the head surmounted by an unusual pyramidal usnisa, eyes and nipples inlaid with white glass.
