First edition of a rare title of the Lisbon bibliography, whose author (1635-1696) was a native of Estremoz, although he lived his whole life in Beja. Pegas did his studies in Coimbra and held several prestigious positions of which we highlight the lawyer of the House of Supplication (Supreme Court), judge, prosecutor of the Mitras of Lisbon, Braga, Évora and Lamego, and the Royal Chapel, promoter of the Bull of the Crusade, etc. ; brilliant lawyer and prolific jurist, with extensive bibliography published, occupies a prominent place in the history of Portuguese law.
