PATHÉ & MARCONI: MARCONI GUGLIELMO (1874-1937) Italian Inventor, developed a radio telegraph system. Nobel Prize winner for Physics, 1909 & CHARLES PATHà (1853-1967) French Pioneer in the film and music recording industry. Pathé adopted the national emblem of France, the cockerel, as the trademark for his company. An excellent set of two signed and inscribed photographs by the two creators of the Pathé-Marconi recording industry. Signed and inscribed oblong 5.5 x 3.5 photograph card, the image depicting a young Marconi seated before a table with instruments he was producing. Signed and inscribed in purple fountain pen ink `Thousand greetings, Marconi´, to the right white border, and dated in Milan, March 1904, in his hand. Addressed to the verso in Marconi´s hand. Together with a good signed and inscribed 5 x 8 magazine photograph by Pathé, the image depicting him in a close-up portrait pose. Signed in bold black ink (`C. Pathé´)at the base of the image, largely to a clear area. VG, 2 £400-600
