Kokoschka has drawn an attractive image of a man (more than likely the artist himself) seated in a half-length profile pose reading a book which he holds in his hands before him. To the right of the drawing Kokoschka has penned three lines of text in his hand, in German, in full 'Craft as the basis of education - intuition instead of deception', adding his signature immediately beneath.
