GRIFFITH D.W.: (1875-1948) American film director, one of the most influential figures in the history of the motion picture. A good vintage signed sepia 8 x 9.5 photograph of Griffith in a half-length pose. Photograph by the Hoover Art Co. of Los Angeles and bearing their blindstamp to the lower left corner. Signed ('Sincerely, D. W. Griffith') by Griffith in black fountain pen ink to a dark area of the image, although reasonably legible. Some very light, extremely minor silvering to the edges, VG
