signed Federico Andreotti on the lower right.

Andreotti was a painter and sculptor among the leading exponents of the Italian art scene at the turn of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence where he trained with Enrico Pollastrini and Stefano Ussi, with whom he joined romantic painting from numerous historical references. However, he soon abandoned this genre to devote himself to portraiture and genre scenes in contexts of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. In his works, an impression trait almost seems to emerge in the drafting of the brushstrokes.
