SHERRINGTON CHARLES: (1857-1952) English neurophysiologist, Nobel prize winner for Physiology or Medicine, 1932. A.L.S., C. S. Sherrington, two pages, 8vo, Oxford, 8th May 1928, to 'My dear Anderson'. Sherrington states that he shall be delighted to stay with his correspondent ('I shall reach you on the Friday from London in time for lunch') and further thanks him for the message to be relayed to his wife, who will not be able to be away from Oxford at the same time. In a postscript Sherrington further remarks 'Thank you for the list of names for the Physiol.Soc's lunch - glad to see such nice Americans'. VG
