Paul VI (1897-1978) Pope of the Catholic Church 1963-78, beatified on 19^th October 2014 by Pope Francis. Paul VI fostered improved ecumenical relations with Eastern Orthodox and Protestant churches which resulted in many historic meetings and agreements.
