HOWARD LESLIE: (1893-1943) English Actor and Director. Best remembered for his role as Ashley Wilkes in Gone with the Wind (1939). Howard was also a regular stories and articles writer for The New York Times, Vanity Fair, and other newspapers. He died during WWII when the German Luftwaffe shot down the British airplane flying from Portugal to Bristol. An excellent vintage signed 5 x 7 photograph by Howard, the studio image showing the Hollywood film star in a head and shoulders pose. Signed in dark fountain pen ink at the base of the image. VG
