[QAJAR AHMAD SHAH]: (1898-1930) Shah of Iran 1909-25, the last ruling member of the Qajar dynasty. QARAGOZLU ABU'L-QASEM KHAN (1856-1927) Naser-al-molk. Regent of Persia 1911-14 who had previously served as Prime Minister of Iran October-December 1907. L.S., as Regent, on behalf of the Shah, one page, folio, Tehran, June 1914, to Ismael Montes, in Persian. The letter states that the communication from Montes announcing that he had been made President of Bolivia was received with great joy, and continues 'The good intentions of Your Excellency concerning the consolidation of the bonds of friendship between Persia and Bolivia have touched us deeply. On our side We would like to assure Your Excellency that all Our efforts also tend towards the same goal'. Signed by the Regent at the conclusion alongside an official Tughra and countersigned by Hassan Vossug ed Dowleh (1868-1951) Iranian Foreign Minister 1911-1915 and later Prime Minister of Iran 1916-17, 1918-20. Accompanied by a contemporary French translation of the Persian text, typed on a 4to sheet of official printed stationery of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran.
