OUDINOT NICOLAS: (1767-1847) Marshal of France. Duc de Reggio. Letter signed twice, with four lines holograph. L.S., `Ml. Oudinot´, one page, 4to, Palace of the Tuileries, Paris, 29th September 1821, to the minister of Finances, in French. Oudinot kindly requests a different post for the son of friend, stating in part `..he has been recently appointed rider receiver of the indirect taxes, and his residence is close to the city of Caen; but his health only allow him to practice his tasks with huge pain, and therefore he would be most obliged if he could get the same kind of work but sedentary and wherever he would be told´ To the bottom left corner Oudinot annotates in his hand `I have the honour of granting the Minister that I will be very sensible to anything he will be able to do for my recommended, Ml Odt´ Small professional restoration to the left edge.
