Delacroix sends a brief message to his correspondent explaining that, to his great regret, he will not be able to participate in their usual meeting. With integral address leaf in Delacroix's hand (an area of paper loss, caused by the original breaking of the seal, slightly affects one word of text). With a neat red ink annotation in the hand of a collector to the upper left corner. VG
