WAGNER RICHARD: (1813-1883) German Composer. Significant portion of an A.L., unsigned, (the signature, and possibly a few lines of text neatly excised), two pages, small 8vo, n.p., n.d., to an esteemed friend, in German. Wagner states, in part, 'Whilst I express my warmest thanks to you from afar for your many amicable efforts, I still can't hide my embarrassment about the fact that the amount of our concert, for which an appropriate number of Patronal papers should have been sent to the Cologne Club, isn't going to be delivered in that way to Bayreuth, as it was agreed between us
..I am quite disconcerted now
..From Berlin and Hamburg the cash income was sent the other day directly to Bayreuth: should the income from the concert in Cologne be a little bit debased by the fact that the money of the club cannot cover the costs totally, at least I would have expected to receive the 300 Thaler, which you offered to send to me from Cologne. But what is going on now with the banker in Cologne? Please understand me
