POULENC FRANCIS: (1899-1963) French Composer, a member of Les Six. A.L.S., Francis Poulenc, one page, 8vo, Evian, 3rd July [n.y.], on the Splendid Hotel of Evian, to Maurice Goudeket, in French. Poulenc has just read his correspondent´s book and states `It is a marvel of nuances, of fervor, of simplicity. You know well how much I appreciate Colette´s work, While I was reading, I was watching her, listening to her..´ EX Maurice Goudeket (1889-1977) French Writer and Businessman, a close friend of Colette. The book Poulenc refers to is most probably Près de Colette (1956)
