ADAM ADOLPHE: (1803-1856) French Composer. Best known for his ballet Giselle (1841) and his worldwide acclaimed Cantique de Noel `O Holy Night´ (1847). A.L.S., `Adolphe Adam´, one page, 8vo, n.p., Monday, n.y., in French. The letter bears to the upper left corner a blind embossed monogramme with the composer´s initials, a double ''A''. Adam, in his usual small writing apologizes stating in part `I am really sorry for not being present at home when you made me the honour of visiting me
