MCQUEEN STEVE: (1930-1980) American Actor. D.S., Steven T. McQueen, two pages, 4to, Los Angeles, California, 9th November 1965. The typed document is headed Minutes of Organizational Meeting of the Board of Directors of Solar Productions Inc. and states that an organizational meeting was held at 27 Oakmont Drive and that McQueen acted as Chairman, Robert J. Schiller as Secretary, and that Neile Adams McQueen was also present in her capacity as a director. The document details five resolutions that were unanimously adopted at the meeting, in part, 'Resolved further, that the action of this corporation in entering into a Joint Venture Agreement with Paramount Pictures Corporation and in its capacity as a joint venturer in entering into a Production-Financing-Distribution Agreement with Embassy Pictures Corp. relating to the motion picture now entitled ''NEVADA SMITH'' be and same hereby is ratified and approved…….Resolved further, that the officers of this corporation be and they hereby are authorized to negotiate on behalf of this corporation a Joint Venture Agreement with Alpha Corporation, Brookdale Films Ltd., and Warner Bros. Productions Ltd., in connection with the production and distribution of a motion picture now entitled ''DAY OF THE CHAMPION''….' Signed by McQueen at the conclusion and countersigned by Robert J. Schiller. Three file holes to the left edge of each page, not affecting the text or signatures. VG Steve McQueen starred as Max Sand, a.k.a. Nevada Smith, in the American western film Nevada Smith (1966). McQueen and director John Sturges had planned to make Day of the Champion, a movie about Formula One racing, but McQueen was busy with filming the delayed The Sand Pebbles (1966). Previously unseen footage from Day of the Champion was featured in a Sky documentary in January 2021.
