Wooden chest covered in polychromed leather and carved, silvered, gilded and polychromed wood, with metal fittings. Colonial. Viceroyalty of Peru. 18th century.
Interesting and very decorative chest. The exterior is totally covered in embossed, polychromed and gilded leather depicting bunches of flowers. The upper part has a lid which is gilded, silvered and polychromed with a large flower which hides three drawers decorated with polychromed flowers.
The front is opened by a folding door. In its interior it has the same decoration as the upper door. It opens onto four drawers decorated with carved flowers and an upper frieze in the style of a sculpted balustrade. It is all polychromed in attractive colours.
