Manuscript dedication inscription on title page, in fine Rashi script, by Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Lowenstam, ‘gift to the learned bridegroom Avraham Katz, son of the famous katzin R. Baruch Bendet, parnes umanhig of the province of Geilich, on the occasion of his marriage. [signed] Yaakov Moshe, son of the great gaon of his generation Rabbi Shaul Av Beth Din of Amsterdam’, as well as another inscription confirming that ‘this book was received as a wedding gift from the great gaon ...’

Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Lowenstam (1744-1815), Son of Rabbi Shaul ABD Amsterdam and son-in-law of his uncle – Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh ABD Berlin. Rabbi of Vilehn, and Amsterdam (from 1793).
