Copy belonging to Rabbi Kalonymus Kalman Shapira, the famous Rebbe of Piaseczno and author of Chovas Hatalmidim, bearing hisownership stamps on the title-page.
Rabbi Kalonymus Kalman Shapira (1889-1944), son of Rabbi Elimelech – Rebbe of Grodzisk and son-in-law of Rabbi Yerachmiel Moshe of Kozhnitz. Rebbe of Piaseczno from 1909 and official rabbi of the town from 1913. Established Yeshivas
Daas Moshe in Warsaw in 1923, where he was personally involved in the development of his students and became renowned as an inspiring educator of Polish Jewish youth. Famous for the inspirational leadership of his chassidim and other religious Jews in the Warsaw ghetto. Author of
Chovas Hatalmidim, Mevo She’arim, Derech Hamelech and
Tzav Veziruz.
