KOCH ERICH: (1896-1986) German member of the Nazi Party NSDAP, appointed Gauleiter in East Prussia 1928-45. ReichsKommissar in Ukraine 1941-44. After WWII Koch stood trial in Poland and was convicted of war crimes and sentenced to death. The sentence was never carried out and Koch died of natural causes in prison. T.L.S., `Erich´, one page, 4to, Konigsberg (Kaliningrad), 22nd December 1938, to Hinrich, in German. The letter bears the printed heading of the East-Prussian Gauleiter ''Der Gauleiter - Ostpreusen'', and to the upper left corner a blind embossed seal with the Nazi eagle and swastika. Koch sends his Christmas greetings to his correspondent stating `Please allow me to give you a small pleasure at Christmas by means of the Konigsberg marzipan which I am sending enclosed
