Large wooden chest covered in chased and embossed leather. Flanders or France. Gothic. 14th – 15th century.
Magnificent chest, with embossed decoration of courtly scenes on all its sides, in which we can see a knight on his steed, a lady and a tower with two more characters leaning on a balcony.
17 x 31 x 25 cm.
The chests can be compared with those kept in important museums such as the Musée de Cluny, Paris (CL 17506), the British Museum, London (n° 1977,0502.1) and the Metropolitan Museum, New York (Inv. n° 41.100.194)
