JOHANN KUPEZKY (Pezinok, 1666 - Nuremberg, 1740), ATTRIBUTED TO

Saint Peter vocation

Oil on canvas, cm. 85,5x64,5. Framed

A classic example of an itinerant painter active in the main European artistic squares, Johann Kupezky was one of the most brilliant portrait painters of the late Baroque era. Despite his indisputable specialism, he did not disdain sorties in the field of genre painting and, as in this case, in the religious one. Here too, however, his qualities stand out in the naturalistic rendering of the face and in the intensity of the expression.
