Bernardo de Legarda is a sculptor and painter who stands out as one of the most versatile artists of viceregal Ecuador. Along with the indigenous Manuel Chili “Caspicara”, he is one of the main exponents of the so-called “Escuela Quiteña” during the 18th century.
