Spanish school of the 18th century. Sant Sabinus and Saint Ubaldo. Pair of reliquary busts in silver-plated copper with virile in the center of the chest guarding relics of the saints respectively. The typology of anthropomorphic reliquaries come from the Carolingian world but in Spain they are popularized as a result of the busts donated by Benedict XIII to the Seo del Salvador in Zaragoza. From the 16th century on, the churches of the entire kingdom of Aragon will compete in obtaining the largest and best collection of anthropomorphic reliquaries. These ze exhibited at the main altar during the octave of Corpus Christi and participated in the spectacular processions to honor the Eucharistic dogma. Heights: 77.5 and 79 cm.
