The Reapers' Salary is an interesting black and white etching on paper realized by August Mongin (1843-1911), after the homonym artwork by Léon August Lhermitte (1882), as it is reported on plate on the lower margin. Signed and dated on plate "L. Lhermitte 1882" on the left corner. In excellent conditions, with a usual yellowing on the edges of the margins of the sheet. This is a very realistic composition representing a genre scene of everyday life: some farmers are resting after work at the wheat fields, waiting for their salary.
