Russian ivory box for card games - probably St. Petersburg first half of the 19th Century; ; octagon shaped, Walrus ivory (Odobenus rosmarus Linnaeus, 1758) relief and open work carving on sides and cover, further embelished with day life scenes. Height 6 cm, base 27.5 x 24.2 cm. A similar box is located in the State Historical Museum of Moscow. Item condition grading: **** good. Accompanied by Ce.S.Ar. Centro Studi Archeometrici certificate of antiquity (pre-1947).
