French shagreen and ivory box - ca. 1930; ; rectangular shape covered with pearl ray shagreen (skark skin), ground down to produce a smooth, puzzle-like surface. Elephant ivory (Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758 or Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797) edges and painted cover depicting Amore e Psiche. Dimensions 12.5 x 11 x 6 cm. Weight 354 gr. Item condition grading: **** good. Accompanied by Ce.S.Ar. Centro Studi Archeometrici certificate of antiquity (pre-1947).
