Rabbi Dov Berish Treves; Revid Hazahav. The author served as Dayan of Vilna under the Gaon of Vilna, who is quoted twice in this work, including a reply to a question posed by the author.

This copy belonged to the famous gaon Rabbi Yosef Dov Soloweitchik of Brisk, author of Beis Halevy, and his stamp - ‘Yosef Dovber HaLevy Soloweitchik’ - appears many times in it.

Rabbi Yosef Dovber Soloweitchik (1820-1892), great grandson of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin and founder of the Brisk rabbinic dynasty. Rosh Yeshiva of Volozhin (1854), Rabbi of Slutzk (1865), and Rabbi of Brisk (1879). Leading rabbinical authority and author of Beis Halevy.
