Rabbi Gershon Hager of Zablotow, letter dated 1943, to the writer Chaim Bloch, praising him for publishing a book during such treacherous times for Jews, and forwarding him two pages of stories of notes of chassidic traditions that he had heard from the Rebbe of Kossow, Rabbi Moshe Hager, author of Leket Ani.

A unique letter! Very rare!

Rabbi Gershon Hager (1884-1954), son of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Zablotow, Rabbi of Touste until WWI – when he escaped to Vienna and served as member of the Beth Din and head of Yeshivas Tomchei Torah. Active in Agudas Yisrael and Beis Yaakov. Escaped to America and served as Rabbi. Author of Minchas Hagershuni and Zechus Avos.

Rabbi Moshe Hager, son of Rabbi Yaakov Shimshon of Kossov and son-in-law of (I) Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heshel of Bazilia and (II) Rabbi Avraham Menachem Steinberg of Brody – author of Machzeh Avraham. Succeeded his father as Rebbe to the chassidim of Kossov as well as being appointed Rabbi of the town. Famous as a poel yeshuos and for his modesty and dignified and refined character. President of the Kossov Kollel in Tzefas and actively involved in supporting the poor in Eretz Yisrael, as shown in this letter. 

Chaim Bloch (1881-1973), Born in Galicia but settled in Vienna, served as chaplain in WWI. Writer and translator. Conducted correspondence with numerous rabbis and writers.
