RABBIS OF MIEDZYREC, LETTER IN PRAISE OF SIR MOSES MONTEFIORE.
Letter dated 1864, written in response to the proposal of R. Eliezer Lipman Silberman of Lyck, editor of Hamaggid, to publish a book containing letters of appreciation and blessings to Sir Moses Montefiore from rabbis and communities around the Jewish world. In this letter, The Rabbis of Miedzyrec support Rabbi Silberman’s idea and praise Sir Moses Montefiore for his activities to help Jews around the world,
mentioning particularly his help for the Jews of Morocco.
