ROSTAND EDMOND: (1868-1918) French Poet and Dramatist of Cyrano de Bergerac. Vintage signed and inscribed 4 x 5.5 cabinet photograph by Rostand, the Reutlinger image depicting the French author seated, wearing his academic uniform, in a three quarter length pose. Signed and inscribed in bold black fountain pen ink, stating in French `A Madame Rita Jumel, don't les pins landais voisinent avec nos chênes basques, homage de bonne et profonde amitié. Edmond Rostand´, also dated 15th July 1914 in his hand. The present photograph was signed the day the Income Tax was approved in France. Small damage to the bottom edge verso, otherwise VG
