Wakizashi
Steel, 38,5 cm (50 cm with the tang)
Signed 藤原國儔 ( Fujiwara Kunitomo) on the tang.
Provenance: Fabrizio Savi collection, acquired in the late 1990s from a private American collector.
A pupil of Kunihiro and active in the first quarter of the seventeenth century, Kunitomo came from the province of Yamashiro south of Kyoto.
