Sexual Encounter, Half XX Century

Sexual Encounter is a beautiful drypoint made by the French painter, illustrator, and writer Amandine Doré in the second half of the 20th century. The image, sensual and pleasant, describes an erotic scene between a man and a woman in an alcove.
Amandine Doré (Paris, 1912-2011) is one of the pseudonyms of Odette Amandine Bonne, who signed also as “Aurèa” or “Madame”, according to the type of subject matter of her artworks.
Amandine was a French painter, illustrator, and writer. Her production varied from erotic to travel illustrations. With her fascinating drawings, she illustrated the classics of erotic literature, books of poetry, magazines, and most of her husband’s books (the Belgian author T’Serstevens, with whom she often travelled).
The state of preservation is excellent, except for a dark stain on the higher left of the paper.
