In the Wood is an original artwork realized by Jean Achard in the second half of the XX century.
The artwork is glued on cardboard. Artist's proof before Letter.
The artwork represents a beautiful and natural landscape inside a forest. Very small but elegant composition, realized with a fresh and intense contrasting stroke.
The artwork was realized by Jean Achard (Voreppe, 1807 - 1884), a French painter and engraver. The artist is known for his Dauphiné landscapes. He is well-known, indeed, with the name of "master of the landscape in Dauphiné". He is also considered the creator of the École Dauphinoise, whose notable members were Laurent Guétal, Ernest Victor Hareux and others. Several works by Achard are kept at the Museum of Grenoble. His other works can be seen in Paris at the Louvre Museum and at the Museum of Fontainebleau.
Good conditions, except for some light foxings on the margins. Passepartout included (24 x 30 cm).
