RARE! RABBI YECHEZKEL ABRAMSKI, RARE ENGLISH NOTICE REGARDING SPECIAL YOM KIPPUR KATAN SERVICE. EREV ROSH CHODESH ELUL 1934.

At a special rabbinical meeting held in 1934, a number of resolutions were passed, including the call for a special Yom Kippur Katan day of prayer, for Jews in Germany and in other European countries. The special services were held at the Machzikei Hadass Synagogue and the Stepney Orthodox Synagogue, where addresses were delivered by local rabbis. This notice, written in English, seems to be written and signed by Rabbi Yechezkel Abramsky, London Rosh Beth Din.
It is very rare to find a letter of this kind written by Rabbi Abramski in English.
Accompanied by a page from a newspaper in which this letter was published.

Rabbi Yechezkel Abramski (1886-1976), studied at the Yeshivos of Novaradok, Telz, Rameiles – Vilna and at the ‘Kibbutz’ of Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzenski. Rabbi of Smolian and Slutzk. Arrested by the Russian authorities for his religious activities and released in 1932 and left Russia for London where he was appointed Rabbi of the Machzikei Hadass, and subsequently as Dayan and Rosh Beth Din. Settled in Eretz Yisrael in 1951, and served as Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka and Head of Vaad Hayeshivos. A leading contemporary rabbinic authority and author of Chazon Yechezkel, a multi-volume commentary on the Tosefta, as well as other publications.
