Divrei Chaim on Gittin and Mikva’os, by Rabbi Chaim Halberstam, Rabbi of Sanz. The book was published anonymously, and the title page states it was written by
‘one of the students’. In the introduction, the author writes that
‘I have not put my name to it for a reason that is known’.

Rabbi Chaim Halberstam (d. 1876), one of the great Torah scholars and chassidic leaders of his time. A disciple of the Rebbes of Lublin and Ropschitz, who attracted tens of thousands of followers, including great rabbis and rebbes in their own right. The founder of the Sanz chassidic dynasty, with its many branches that continue to flourish till the present time. Author of Teshuvos Divrei Chaim and Divrei Chaim al haTorah, in addition to this work.
